LGBT alliance to KTSM, Re: That report by Swann: Boo!

El Paso, Tex.— A coalition of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) and
allied groups, expresses its deep disappointment in the management of El Paso
television station KTSM Channel 9, an NBC affiliate, for its failure to provide
balanced coverage following the El Paso City Council’s decision to extend
benefits to the domestic partners of municipal employees.

Addington to CNN: Lou Dobbs threatens your credibility

Bill Addington, an activist for human rights causes, sent this letter:

My message to CNN”S Johnathan Klein:

Dear Mr. Klein,

As a viewer of CNN, I am becoming increasing disturbed by Lou Dobbs CNN show. As a El Paso, Texas area border resident, I resent Mr. Dobbs characterization of our home here on the US Mexico border. I understand Mr. Dobbs is scheduled to broadcast his CNN radio show from Capitol Hill from the FAIR “Hold their Feet to the Fire” legislative advocacy conference. FAIR was founded by a man with a history of giving his racist beliefs to those who will listen. Unfortunately, some in our society do listen to him. FAIR has correctly been labeled as a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

County Clerk Sanchez files ethics complaint against Commissioner Escobar

The Tax Day Tea Party was a great success because of 1,500 people like you! Let’s do it again, El Paso! Be sure to join us on September 12th at the Downtown Arts Festival Plaza for the 9/12 Tea Party from 12:30pm-2:30pm! Come listen to great speakers and live music with CD & the Reds. Let’s get at least 1,500 El Pasoans there to show their support of individual liberty & fiscally responsible government! RSVP today!

Remember, our Health Care Town Hall Meeting is coming up on Wednesday September 2nd at the Holiday Inn Airport at 6 p.m. Our speaker panel will provide a great opportunity to find out what leaders within our local hospitals think about Health Care.

Congressman Reyes declined our invitation to participate in our meeting. Below, we have listed some opportunities in the coming days for you to visit with your Congressman. Be sure to take advantage and attend these meetings.
