EPISD Superintendent Garcia didn’t do it, grand jury decides
News release from the El Paso Independent School District:
GARCIA CLEARED OF ASSUALT ALLEGATIONS
The District Attorney’s Office received the case and the Grand Jury, which consists of 12 impartial citizens, has reviewed and declined an allegation of assault against Dr. Lorenzo Garcia, superintendent of EPISD.
The allegation was made after Dr. Garcia was giving high fives to principals who were accepting the recognition and congratulations for their achievements on the TAKS test at an end of year principals’ meeting.
One of the employees refused the high five and Dr. Garcia touched her on the head. Photographs taken of the public event show the accuser laughing and clapping during and after the congratulations ceremony.
