NPT Capitol: Dems still stalling over Voter ID, but EP ethics bill looks safe

Speaker pro tem, Craig Eiland, D-Galveston just announced the order of business for the day. After a few items ellible for consideration are taken up the House will be back on the local calendar. The Democratic coup d’etat via procedural stranglehold continues!

That means they should get to SB 1368 at some point today, the El Paso Ethics Commission bill.

If the day goes like yesterday, the bill will be talked about for nine and a half minutes – long enough to draw the calendar out but short enough to ensure the bill is not killed. That is unless, someone forgets to look at their watch and accidentally talks for just over ten minutes rather than just under.

Now what are the chances of that…?

Update: State Rep Jim Dunnam, D-Waco just gave an hours notice for a motion that would bump the issue of TWIA (Windstorm insurance) up the Calendar. Windstorm insurance is the only issue the Governor has declared he would cal a special session for, if a bill did not pass. That could bump SB 1368 down the pecking order today. It has until midnight on Wednesday before it dies.
