NPT City: EPPD deputy chief may be leaving for a chief’s job in Iowa
El Paso Police Department Deputy Chief Tom Whitten has received a job offer to be chief of police in DeWitt, Iowa, the newspaper there reported today.
Whitten still must undergo “a series of physical and psychological testing before his hiring becomes official,” according to the report in the Quad City Times.
Reached by telephone, Whitten, 45, said that he was looking forward to the challenge. “I’m excited,” he said. He has not yet left his El Paso job, and the Quad City Times reported that Whitten could be on the job by July.
