NPT County: Hospital board appointment

EL PASO, TX- Commissioner Anna Perez (Pct. No. 1) has made her selection for her appointment to the board of managers of the University Medical Center of El Paso. Janet Aguilar, Vice-President of Wells Fargo Insurance Service in Texas, was selected by Commissioner Perez to serve on the Hospital Board. Commissioners Court will confirm her appointment to the board on Monday during Commissioners Court regular meeting.

Ms. Aguilar is a native El Pasoan. She has a strong background in insurance, and has served as the president of the Insurance Women of El Paso. She received the Insurance Woman of the Year Award twice, first in 1982 and again in 1991. Aguilar has also served as chair for the ACSR committee for the Texas Association of Insurance Agents and held the position of President for the Texas Certified Insurance Counselors Education Board. She currently serves as chair elect to the Executive Board of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce presented Ms. Aguilar with the Texas Latina Entrepreneur Legend Award.

“I am very excited that Ms. Aguilar has agreed to serve on this very important board. After interviewing her, I was comfortable that she understands the responsibility it entails and shares in my vision of a successful community hospital that will continue to serve this community well,” said Commissioner Perez.
