NPT City: Press Club/Pearson Group mayoral forum Saturday morning

Maybe this ought to be an NPT Media item. Anyway …

EL PASO – El Paso’s mayoral candidates will answer questions from members of the media and the public during the March edition of the El Paso Press Club’s “Meet the Press” event.

The event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday March 14 at the El Paso Times community room, 300 N. Campbell.

NPT City: The Jaime Perez slate?

So, city elections are supposed to be non-partisan, but according to this posting in Gustavo Reveles Acosta’s blog over at the El Paso Times, there’s a slate of folks running as part of the JOP.

Bear in mind we haven’t confirmed the authenticity of this yet. Working on that.

NPT DC: Pushing Obama hard on immigration reform

There is a strong national effort not to allow immigration reform to be pushed to the back of the bus.

One element of that effort will come this evening to El Paso. The “National ‘Family Unity’ Outreach Tour” arrives at 7 p.m. tonight at Templo de Alabanza, 2111 Wyoming Ave.

Follow the jump for the news release regarding the event tonight with U.S. Representative Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL), Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Immigration Task Force, U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes and El Pasoans, and the Texas and national series of events.
