NPT City: Mayoral candidate Rivera: Here’s the platform, give me your ideas

A news release from the campaign of mayoral candidate Carlos Rivera:

Thanks for your support since our Announcement for Mayor on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at El Zarape Restaurant, as well as our Steering Committee meeting on February 7. Many of you have contributed your ideas and suggestions for our Campaign. Appreciate your contributions and support.

You are invited to join us this Saturday, February 21 at 8:30am at El Zarape Restaurant (6369 Montana behind Bingo Hall). We will present our campaign plan, strategy, and platform issues. Also, we will announce our schedule for upcoming events, rally/town hall meetings, and other events to take place between now and May 9 to help us accomplish our mission.

This is a truly grassroots effort. Invite your family, friends, and colleagues to join us on our journey for our “Diamond in the Desert”.

Please RSVP and let us know if you will be able to join us on Saturday, February 21 at El Zarape.

Have a great week and look forward to seeing you Saturday, Feb. 21 at El Zarape Restaurant.

  3. Carlos Rivera,I welcome his candidacy for mayor.

As a retired Army veteran and new to El Paso, Carlos was the first to assist me in restoring my G.I.benefits, without his help it would have been mission impossible.

I’ll make my choice after hearing from the other candidates.

  4. Attend one of his rallies, ask questions-he’s very open to new ideas and will explain his ideas.

Read the platform before you decide. He brings a lot of experience. leadership and management skills. He has worked for the Fed govt, is a veteran, advocate and assistes staring buisnesses.

He knows how hard you work for your money and wont be quick to take it via taxes and fees. He will review how things are going at the city, trim the fatand eliminate waste. He will work to bring REAL industry and REAL wages to EL paso.

He wants El Paso to be a place a great place to raise a family and a memorable place for the tourists.

He wont give you a song and dance, cant play a guitar and although he cant sing, he sounds better than the Mayor.

  5. What supporters? Who is this person asking for campaign ideas? Why not ask for feedback on HIS OWN ideas.
It is going to be a long year.

  6. Yes, even you are invited to attend whether or not you agree with him. Come ask him questions about his candidacy and plans for El Paso. I encourage you to listen to all candidates and make an informed choice, rather just than pull the same lever without questioning.

The meetings are already packed with supporters and more attending each meeting. They are hearing new and creative ideas.
