El Paso – Friday October 2, 2009 State Representative Joseph Moody will help host the First Annual Mexican American Bar Association Legislative Conference.
“I think this is a great opportunity for leaders from across the state to come to El Paso to discover our rich legal background as well as for El Pasoans to learn more about the law and the legislative process,” said Representative Moody.
The event is officially hosted by the Mexican American Bar Association of El Paso at the El Paso County Courthouse, 500 E. San Antonio Street, from 11:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Speakers include Texas State Representatives Rafael Anchia, Trey Martinez-Fischer, Veronica Gonzales, Mike Villarreal, Joaquin Castro, and Joseph Moody. All speakers are members of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) in the Texas House of Representatives.
“I want to encourage students from the University of Texas at El Paso and El Paso Community College to attend, this is also an important event for our city to get more involved in the legislative process and in their state government,” said Moody.
